Epsilon Rho Scholarship Essay Prompt
To apply for the Epsilon Rho Scholarship, presented by the NIU chapter of Phi Mu Alpha, please do the following:
- Prepare an essay response no longer than 500 words to the prompt given below, keeping any identifying information out of the response.
- Submit your response, name, year in music program, and current GPA and e-mail address via e-mail to Scholarship@sinfoniaep.com or on paper in a sealed and signed envelope to any active member by on Saturday, March 7th.
- We will not read any essays that are turned in improperly or late essays regardless of circumstances.
- Please keep in mind that if you do not submit electronically the Signed and sealed envelope has to be in the hands of the Scholarship Committee Chair by 11:59pm on March 7th or else it will not be accepted.
How do you plan on using your education in music to advance music in America, and how will you continue to honor and pay tribute to your alma mater after graduation?
We will notify you by e-mail on or before March 16th if you will proceed to the next step of the process. Know that if you continue in the selection process a formal interview will be required and will be recorded for evaluating purposes. Also, be aware that we are looking for the best man and not the best musician so don't expect everything to be about music and how well you play your primary instrument.
